Tele-forensic interviewing (tele-FI;e g , via video-conferencing software) may be an effective way of increasing the accessibility skilled interviewers for children who are questioned as part a criminal or care and protection investigation The current coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has highlighted how critical it is that we have evidence-based procedures to draw upon when traditional face-to-face interviews cannot used In this article discuss benefits risks associated with tele-FI, review small number studies examined its effectiveness eliciting memory reports from adults children, practical considerations should inform planning interview Tele-FI appears promising avenue creating resiliency within organizations, overcoming factors might otherwise undermine reliability children's evidence Available research indicates elicited in tele-FIs likely good better than those interviews, but more comprehensive evidence-base needed Interviewers aware using approach influence their questioning strategies engagement (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2020 APA, all rights reserved)
